I made the right decision to leave Manchester United - Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku has stated that he made the right decision to leave Manchester United for Inter Milan.

Lukaku joined the Serie A side in July after scoring 42 goals for United which he joined from Everton

Since arriving Serie A, the Belgian has been of terrific form for Antonio Conte's men with 18 goals so far this season to help keep Inter Milan in contention for the title.

However, the back injury sustained by Marcus Rashford has left many wondering if it was the right decision to let Lukaku go.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Lukaku said the decision to leave Manchester United was his.

“I think I had to re-find myself. Last year was difficult for me on the professional side because stuff was not going how I wanted and I was not performing as well… and I just came to the conclusion that it was time for me to change the environment.

“I made my decision around March, and I went to the manager’s office (Ole Gunnar Solskjaer) and I told him it was time for me to find something else.”

“I think I made the right decision and I think Manchester United now has made space for the younger players to come through so I think it was a bit of a win-win situation for both of us,” Lukaku said.
