Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has acknowledged his maker for his successful career as a professional footballer.

Ighalo, 34 is one of the most successful Nigerian footballers with rich experience in Europe and Asia.

He has featured for clubs in the prestigious English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, and the Chinese Super League.

Ighalo is the only Nigerian player to have donned the iconic Manchester United shirt following his short spell at Old Trafford during the 2020/21 season.

These days, the former Julius Berger striker plies his trade in the fast-rising Saudi Professional League for Al-Hilal.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with sports journalist Oma Akutugba on his visit to his luxurious mansion in Lekki, Lagos, the former Watford striker attributed his career success to the Almighty God.

He said: “First of all, I thank God because all these things you see is not only hard work but God.

“I am not the most talented, I am not the most prayerful. When I was growing up in Lagos there were so many players who were ten times better than me but never had the opportunity.”
