Forward Victor Osimhen has expressed his delight to be back in the Super Eagles squad after missing the friendlies against Algeria and Tunisia in October.

Osimhen was not available for selection for the games after his club stopped him from traveling due to Coronavirus concerns which prompted traveling restrictions in Naples.

The 21-year-old has now joined his Super Eagles teammates for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers encounter against Sierra Leone which is billed for Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

“I’m really happy to be back and we have a quality team and like I said before, the game won’t be easy, so we have to prepare well and which we have been doing for the past days. And of course tomorrow (Today) we expect nothing but victory but it won’t be easy,” he told the media.

Ahead of the Friday’s game with the Leone stars, Osimhen also stressed further that he’s not in the competition with likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Paul Onuachu and Emmanuel Dennis, who are all in contention to lead the team’s attack.

“There is no competition between me and the likes of Iheanacho, Onuachu and Dennis. Whoever the coach calls upon will surely give his best.

“Of course, I’m also ready to help the team which is important. The most important thing is the victory tomorrow (Today) and to play well and satisfy the fans which is really important,” he said.
