I dropped out of law school to pursue my football dream — Dessers reveals after joining Rangers

Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has disclosed that he sacrificed a career in law to pursue his football dream.

The 28-year-old Dutch-born Nigerian has had a fairly decent football career as a player.

Among his greatest achievement is winning the top scorer award in the Inaugural edition of the UEFA Conference League where he netted 10 goals for Feyenoord Rotterdam.

Speaking on his journey to becoming a professional footballer after joining the Gers, the former Genk striker disclosed that his initial plan was to become a lawyer.

“I studied at law school for a bit, so probably a lawyer,” Dessers told RangersTV per the Scottish Sun.

“I became a professional footballer quite late, and for me studying was always plan A, and football was plan B.

“So I started law school, I did it for two years, and then I got the chance to become a professional football player, and of course, I went for it.

“Now I’m here[Rangers], so I think I made the good choice.”

The Nigerian international joined Glasgow Rangers on a four-year deal in a deal worth 5 million Euros.

He scored 7 goals in 29 appearances for Cremonese last season.
