Delle Alli has named Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino as the best manager he has worked with.

Alli, 27, worked under the Argentine gaffer during his spell at Tottenham Hotspurs where he shot to fame.

He was part of the Spurs team that reached the UEFA Champions League final in 2019 where they lost to Liverpool by two unanswered goals at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

Alli left Spurs to join Premier League rivals, Everton last season following a dip in form before he went on loan to Turkish side, Besiktas last season.

The England international whose last appearance for the Three Lions came in 2019 has seen his career marred by injuries and other off-the-field issues.

Speaking on The Overlap series with Gary Neville, Alli named ex-PSG and Spurs boss Pochettino as the best manager he has worked under throughout his professional career.

“Mauricio Pochettino was the best manager [I played under] and I could not have asked for a better manager at the time.

“I was with him and his team, you know, not just him. There was Jesus [Perez], Miguel [d’Agostino] and Tony [Jimenez].

“They are amazing people and they are so understanding, and it was not like a footballer and a manager relationship. It was deeper than that, I felt.”
