Embattled Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has proclaimed himself the most complete football player in history.

According to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, fans are free to choose other football greats, such as Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona or Pelé, ahead of him. However, he sees himself as the most complete player in the history of the game.

The Al-Nassr captain made the declaration in a recent interview with CNN Portugal.

“If someone prefers Messi, Pelé or Maradona, that’s a matter of personal taste. I respect that,” Ronaldo said.

“But to say Cristiano Ronaldo is not a complete player is a lie.

“I am the most complete player.”

The 41-year-old was recently suspended by the Portuguese Football Federation after walking out on the national team following a clash with head coach Jorge Jesus.

Ronaldo is just 20 goals away from reaching the historic milestone of 1,000 career goals.
