I am playing with confidence — Iwobi

Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi has said he is playing football with confidence.

The 26-year-old was on hand with two assists as Everton beat Crystal Palace by 3-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday, October 22.

It was the Toffees first Premier League victory after three successive defeats against Manchester United, Spurs, and Newcastle United.

Reflecting on his performance after the game, the former Arsenal midfielder disclosed that, he is playing with a lot of confidence now

“On a personal level, I am playing with a lot of confidence, Iwobi told the club's website.

“The manager tells me, ‘Play the way you train’. You can see I’m very confident and I’m able to express myself on the pitch. For our third goal, I was able to do that with a cheeky little flick!

“I saw Dwight McNeil running with the ball and then Neal [Maupay] make a first run. I made a second run, Dwight spotted me, and I could see him continuing his run, so I played it into his path. It looked like a great goal, but I have to give credit to Dwight.

“The manager gives me so much belief and when I have confidence and motivation on the pitch, I feel I’m almost unstoppable.”

Iwobi has so far managed 5 assists in the Premier League this season and is the joint-second player with the most assists alongside Manchester City's Bernado Silver.

Only Kelvin Debruyne has more assists (9).
