Enyimba International kept the hope of playing continental football next season alive with a hard-fought 2-1 win against MFM FC of Lagos.

The Aba Elephants scored late to deny the Olukoya Boys a vital point in the Nigeria professional football league game played in Aba on Sunday.

After a goalless first half, Enyimba went in front on the 52nd minute after striker Victor Mbaoma flicked Bilal’s cross to the bath of his partner Tosin Omoyele who hits home emphatically.

The Olukoya Boys fought their way back into the game and got a well-deserved equalizer on the 83rd minute.

Chimezie Izuchukwu dribbled two of Enyimba’s defenders and then squared the ball for Oladayo Alabi who curled home a brilliant equalizer.

Enyimba thought they have regained their lead on the 88th when Samad Kadiri’s cross was tapped home by Tosin Omoyele but the referee ruled out the goal for offside.

The home side however snatched all the three when Anthony Omaka riffled home the winner with the last kick of the game.

The points moved Enyimba’s tally to 61 from 35 matches. They are levelled on points with Nasarawa United and Kano Pillars in second and third place.
