Heartbreak for Chelsea fans as club legend states reason Osimhen won't join London club

Former Chelsea defender, Frank Leboeuf, says Napoli’s Victor Osimhen will be an ideal addition to the Blues squad but was quick to add that the Nigerian striker will reject a chance to join Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Osimhen has been linked with a move away from Italy with Chelsea being the likely destination as The Blues continue to struggle with young strikers like Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja.

When asked who he would sign for Chelsea, Leboeuf told ESPN, “Osimhen would be a very good target but he won’t come to Chelsea because they are not competing at the top level in Europe at the moment.

“Before trying to sell players to buy a striker, you have to list available strikers and strikers who are willing to come. I’m not sure you’re going to find anybody.

“Chelsea are not playing in the Champions League and they are now 10th in the league despite their 2-0 win over Sheffield United. Which top strikers would like to come to play for Chelsea right now? None.”

90min recently claimed that Chelsea do have plans in place to make a move for Osimhen next summer who according to several reports in Italy has reportedly reached an agreement to sign a one-year contract extension with Napoli.
