'He was something else' — Aina on Hazard at Chelsea

Torino defender Ola Aina has praised the qualities of Belgium international Eden Hazard during his stay at Chelsea.

The 31-year-old was undoubtedly one of the best players in the world during his time at Stamford Bridge and was tipped to fill Cristiano Ronaldo's shoes at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Hazard couldn't live up to that expectation after joining the Spanish giants in 2019 for €115m as his time at the Spanish capital has been marred by persistent injuries.

The ex-Lille attacker has only managed 7 goals and 11 assists in 72 appearances for the Los Blancos after three seasons.

Sharing his experience with the Belgium captain during their time at Cobham, Aina had some good things to say about his former teammate.

“Eden was something else, it used to come to him so easy,” Aina said as per The Byline.

“He never looked like he was struggling to get past a player. His touches were right, balance, and everything was just perfect. The whole time he was at Chelsea, he was just a man.

“When you have that kind of feeling your confidence is just out of the roof. That’s how it was with him.”

Hazard is currently competing with Belgium at the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
