Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has praised the qualities of Nigerian-born Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri who made history in the Premier League on Sunday, September 18.

The lad became the youngest player ever to feature in the Premier League after coming off the bench in Arsenal's 3-0 win against Brentford.

The teenage prospect born to Nigerian parents was 15 years and 181 days on his PL debut beating the previous record held by Harvey Elliot who made his first English topflight appearance at 16 years and 30 days for Fulham in May 2019.

Nwaneri also set another record by becoming the youngest Arsenal player to feature for the first team surpassing the previous record held by Cesc Fabregas.

Impressed by his potential, Arsenal's former captain Granit Xhaka believes the young attacking midfielder is a special player.

“I am doing my coaching license and I have trained the Under 16s, the Swiss international said.

“You can see a big difference with him and the other guys. He is very, very special.”

Nwaneri was promoted to Arsenal's U-21 from the U-18 following a string of impressive performances before making his senior team debut.
