'He makes you angry and you react' — Balotelli speaks on working with Mourinho at Inter

Former Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli has extolled Jose Mourinho as a manager who brings out the best in his players.

The current AS Roma manager coached Balotelli during his two-year stay at Inter Milan from 2008 to 2010.

The former Azzurri striker was part of Jose Mourinho's historic treble-winning team during the 2009-2010 season.

Speaking in an interaction on Muschi Selvaggio’s podcast, the ex-Manchester City and Liverpool striker explained that the Portuguese tactician fuels his players' adrenaline to get them to produce their best performance on the pitch on matchdays.

“Mourinho brings out the best in you, he makes you angry and you react and put all your adrenaline out on the pitch.”

Balotelli also denied Jose Mourinho's claim that he declined a meeting with him to attend Formula 1.

“There was an interview where Mourinho says I didn’t go to a meeting with him because I went to the Grand Prix. It’s not true,” Balotelli noted.

In the said interview with BT Sports last year, Jose said: “I told Balotelli to be at my office by 2 pm for a meeting and when I called him he’d gone to watch Formula 1. He said, ‘meetings in your office I can have every day, but to see Formula 1 is only once a year in Italy.’ A couple of days later I had to laugh.”
