He has an eye for goal — Heskey says of Osimhen

Former England international Emile Heskey has urged Liverpool to sign Napoli's Victor Osimhen.

The former Liverpool striker believes the 23-year-old offers something quite different from the current attackers at Anfield and would be a great threat up front for the Reds.

“He would certainly give them something different to what they have now,” the 44-year-old said as per Anfield Watch.

“He’s different to Nunez who can play out wide; Osimhen would be that central goal threat.

“He’s quick, has an eye for goal, and can finish really well with both feet. He’s a top player. I think Napoli paid quite a lot for him, so that’s why he’s commanding a £100m transfer fee.

“I saw him score against Leicester last season in the Europa League and he’s a top striker and would certainly enhance Liverpool’s options in attack without a doubt.

“He’s a phenomenal player, and I think his pace means he would be very much suited to the Premier League.”

Osimhen has been at the centre of much transfer speculation since last summer.

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked to Manchester United following the exit of Christiano Ronaldo.

Other top European clubs like Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Juventus have all been credited with an interest in the Super Eagles forward.

Osimhen has been in remarkable form for the Naples-based team this season. He has scored 9 goals in 11 outings in the Serie A and leads the top scorer's chart.

The ex-Lille attacker has also managed a goal in the UEFA Champions League, making it 10 goals across all competitions.
