Pep Guardiola was incensed with Everton defender, Yerry Mina's conduct, despite Manchester City's 3-0 victory at Goodison Park.

City won their 11th consecutive game in the Premier League to take another step towards the league title, as Everton's relegation fears were compounded.

However, Guardiola was unhappy with the methods Mina used to mark Haaland, after the Norwegian showed off the battle scars he sustained.

The two tall players were involved in a feisty battle all afternoon, with referee, Anthony Taylor having to diffuse the tension a couple of times.

Mina was hoping to employ similar tactics and achieve the same success as Antonio Rudiger, who managed to silence the Norwegian in the Champions League.

He did not succeed, as the 22-year-old scored between Ilkay Gundogan's two goals to take his tally to 36 goals in a single season.

Haaland vs Mina: what happened?

Haaland gave his shirt away at full-time and his body bore visible scratch marks from the battle in Merseyside.

Gundogan himself has, in the past, called out Mina for using underhanded tactics in his game.

"He’ll use his hands in a tackle, scratch or pinch your back when the referee isn’t looking. I’ve seen him do that once or twice," he said, as quoted by GMS.
Guardiola, on his end, refused tc comment on what the Colombian had done but gave him a dressing down nonetheless.

"Mina? It’s not necessary what he does. Away from football, it is not necessary to do what he does every single game. And I told him, 'You are a good enough player to avoid these kinds of things'," he said, as quoted by Daily Mail.

Luckily, no long-lasting damage was done, with Haaland now focused on the second leg of City's clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
