Veteran Ghanaian sports journalist Kwabena Yeboah could not hold back his tears during the pre-match analysis in the build-up to the just-ended game between the Black Stars of Ghana and Uruguay.

The revered sports journalist was inconsolable as he watched highlights of how Ghana lost to Uruguay 12 years ago in South Africa.

To inflame the situation, the Black Stars quest for revenge ended in tears, as Uruguay beat the West African side by two unanswered goals at the Al Janoub Stadium in their final group game.

Ghana missed a great opportunity to take the lead in the first half after captain Andre Ayew missed from the spot in the 21st minute.

The missed spot kick gave Uruguay a lift as they responded swiftly with two quick goals courtesy of De Arrascaeta's brace.

Despite the victory, Uruguay couldn't seal qualification to the last 16 as South Korea beat Portugal 2-1 in the other group encounter to qualify on goals scored.
