Gasperini lavishes praise on Lookman

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has praised Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman for his blistering form in the Italian Serie A.

Lookman, 25, has been instrumental to Atalanta since joining the club in the summer from RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.

The ex-Leicester City man has so far netted 4 goals plus one assist in 10 Serie A outings this season helping Atalanta to secure the second spot on the league log with just 2 points adrift leaders Napoli.

Italian manager Gasperini has been impressed by the pace at which the Nigerian international has adapted to life in Italy.

“Despite being a young guy, he has evolved. I give him five goals because he also scored at Monza, he told Radio Rai.

“He’s a guy who grew up with Leipzig, he had experience in England.

“When he came to us I had the feeling of an evolved player who knows football and who immediately entered into our mechanisms.”

“He’s a settled player who doesn’t need any more time to make an extraordinary contribution,” the 64-year-old added.

Lookman has scored in his last two Serie A outings against Udinese and Sassuolo respectively.
