Flying Eagles set for tour of Egypt ahead of African junior Championship

The Flying Eagles are scheduled to embark on training tour to Egypt ahead of the 2023 CAF U20 African Nations Cup.

A training camp to the tournament venue, Egypt was proposed by the technical crew in order to help familiarise the players with environment.

The tournament which serves as the World Cup qualifiers holds February next year and the coaches are trying to perfect preparations to put the team in good position.

It is understood that the Nigeria Football Federation have approved the trip and the team will travel any moment from now.

The Ladan Bosso’s side are currently training at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, waiting the approval of the Nigeria Football Federation.

About 15 players were dropped from the squad last week, leaving Bosso with 25 players.

The team played in three friendlies against local sides, winning all and scored 17 goals without conceding any.

Egypt will host the U-20 AFCON from February 18 to March 12, 2023, hosts Egypt, Tunisia, Senegal, Gambia, Uganda, Benin, Zambia, South Sudan and Mozambique are the others team that qualified for the tournament.
