Flying Eagles depart Nigeria for Morocco

The 2023 U20 African Cup of Nations-bound Flying Eagles are expected to leave for Morocco this Wednesday evening.

Nigeria’s U20 contingent will travel to the North African country from Abuja to continue preparations for the tournament billed for Egypt.

The seven times African champions, camped in Abuja for three weeks and engaged in series of friendlies with amateur sides and the junior Chipolopolo of Zambia.

The decision to conclude training exercise in Morocco is to allow the players acclimatize to weather in Egypt.

Several test games have been lined up for the team in Morocco as they put final touches to the preparation for the tournament.

Housed in group A with hosts Egypt, Senegal and Mozambique, Nigeria will kick off their campaign on February 19 against Senegal.

The tournament serves as the African qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup held in Indonesia.

The four semi-finalists will represent the continent for the World Cup.
