Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has expressed his delight following his first home goal in the Italian Serie A.

The 24-year-old scored the only goal as Gian Piero Gasperini's side beat Fiorentina 1-0 at the Gewiss Stadium on Sunday, October 2.

After the game, the former Leicester City winger expressed his excitement to have scored for the first time in front of the Atalanta home fans.

“It was a beautiful win, a great performance and we believed in it until the end. I’m happy for my first goal in front of our fans, I’ve been waiting for it for a long time.

“I just want to see from match to match where we can go, I haven’t set myself any goals, I want to get as far as possible with Atalanta.”

Lookman's 59th-minute strike moves Atalanta to the top of Serie A with 20 points, levelled on points with Napoli with an inferior goal difference.

The Super Eagles winger has so managed 2 goals and 3 assists in 8 Serie A outings.

Lookman joined Atalanta in the summer transfer window for a fee believed to be around the region of €9m.
