Finidi George to lead Super Eagles in friendlies against Ghana, Mali

Former Super Eagles star George Finidi has been tipped to lead Nigeria in the upcoming friendlies against Ghana and Mali later this month.

The hunt for the next Super Eagles head coach is still on following the exit of José Peseiro as the Portuguese gaffer failed to reach a new agreement with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after the AFCON.

The NFF has received applications from former internationals and foreign coaches who have expressed interest in the vacant role.

As per reports, a new national team gaffer is expected to be unveiled next month.

Fresh reports indicate that Enyimba FC coach Finidi George may be in charge of the team for the mouthwatering clashes against Ghana and Mali at the end of the month.

Finidi was part of Jose Peseiro's technical team.

Nigeria will take on Ghana at the Grande de Marrakech on Friday, March 22 before facing Mali four days later at the same venue.
