Newly appointed Super Eagles head coach Finidi George may appoint a foreign assistant, according to reports.

SCORENigeria reports that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has given the former Enyimba FC boss the ultimatum to appoint his own assistants.

The decision is said to be aimed at preventing discord among the backroom staff.

Emmanuel Amuneke, Daniel Amokachi, and Michael Nsien are among the former internationals who are being considered to join the new technical crew.

The NFF announced Finidi Goerge as the new Super Eagles coach on Monday, April 29.

The former Ajax winger will succeed Portuguese gaffer Jose Peseiro who left the role after the African Cup of Nations in February.

His immediate task is to lead the team in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and the Republic of Benin in June.
