A throwback video on Desire Oparanozie's late winner against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in the finals of the 2016 African Women's Cup of Nations has sparked divided opinions between fans on social media.

The 28-year-old will not feature at the Africa Women's Cup of Nations billed for Morocco next month due to travel restrictions, the NFF confirmed on its Twitter handle on Sunday, June 19.

In her stead, Anam Imo was handed a call-up to the team.

Reacting to the news on social media, some fans expressed their disappointment with the former captain's absence while reliving the moment she scored the crucial goal that won Nigeria the title in 2016.

@themmanuelfaith: Wait, she didn’t make the Final Cut?

@slekky4 says: They should show the South African girls lessons cos those girls are ranting they beat Super Falcons. They should tell them we no mate.

@olawaleverified: The female Yak... That goal gave me peace against the 2000 final in Lagos... I'm still happy watching her score

Meanwhile, some section of the fans believe the 28-year-old should make way for young and upcoming talents.
