FIFA clears German-born defender, Torunarigha to play for Super Eagles

Defender Jordan Torunarigha's request to switch his nationality has been approved by
Federation of International Football Federation (FIFA).

The KAA Gent player was born to Nigerian parents but represented Germany at various youth levels.

Recall the 26-year-old turned down the opportunity to represent Nigeria in 2018.

According to Soccer net.ng, the Players’ Status Chamber of FIFA has officially granted his request to play for the Super Eagles.

Torunarigha could be included in Nigeria’s squad for next month’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe.

The player made 34 league appearances for Gent last season with three goals to his name.
