FG rescind Nigeria's 2 years ban from basketball

The Federal Government has approved Nigeria's immediate return to international basketball competitions according to a statement released by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Ismaila Abubakar, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development announced this at a media briefing in Abuja on Thursday, June 23.

He indicated that the decision was informed by a letter of appeal addressed to the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports by Mr. Musa Kida who is the leader of the Nigerian Basketball Federation board.

He said: “The letter appealed to the Minister to use his good offices to approach President Buhari for the reversal of the 2-year withdrawal of Nigeria from international basketball competitions.”
