Chelsea coach Frank Lampard has stated that he does not need a call or message from club owner Roman Abramovich if they win the FA Cup.

The Blues face their London rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup final on Saturday as both teams justle for their only trophy chance this season.

Also both Lampard and his counterpart ec-player turn coach, Mikel Arteta will be looking to win a trophy in their first season with their respective clubs.

Should thinn end up in favour of the Blues, Lampard who won the trophy four times as a player, believes the cup still carries its old magic from when he grew up watching the Wembley showpiece.

And Lampard says he is not expecting a pat on the back from his boss before the game.

Blues boss Lampard said: "I don't need a phone call, or a message, or recognition like that because I feel the support from the owner.

"I have felt it from him from the moment I took the job.

"I felt it for many years as a player. I am happy if I can make him happy.

"Last Sunday was a step forward in where we are right now (by finishing in the top four) and I want to continue making those steps.

"I grew up watching FA Cup finals and winning goals and I remember them all very well.

"I can't recount them all now, but if you gave me five minutes I could sit down and pretty much list them all through the 90s."
