Europa League: Uzoho concedes as Omonia Nicosia bow out of competition

Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho was on the losing side as Omonia Nicosia crashed out of the Europa League following a 1-nil defeat to Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday night.

It was Nigerian international Ibrahim Akanbi who scored the only goal in the 87th minute to secure knockout qualification for the Moldavan side.

The 23-year-old will however miss the Sherriff's round of 32 first-leg game after picking a yellow card in the 68th minute.

Francis Uzoho's Cypriot side finished at the bottom of Group E after failing to record a single point.

Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad finished at the summit of the group with 15 points ahead of Manchester United who managed the same point with an inferior goal difference.

Sherriff finished in third place with 6 points.
