Europa League: 10 teams qualify for knockout stage

Ten clubs have so far cemented their place in the knockout phase of this season's Europa League competition after Thursday's round of matches.

The likes of Liverpool, Marseille and West Ham United all booked their place in the last 16 stage following the completion of matchday 5 fixtures.

Liverpool beat LASK 4-0 at Anfield courtesy of goals from Mohammed Salah, Luiz Diaz and a double from Cody Gakpo.

West Ham also won 1-0 against TSC Backa Topola in Serbia whiles Olympic Marseille also beat Ajax 4-3.

The ten teams that have made it to the knock phase are: Liverpool, Atalanta, Brighton, Freiburg, Leverkusen, Marseille, Rennes, Roma, Slavia Praha and West Ham United.

Meanwhile, Villarreal and Sporting CP are confirmed as group runners-up, into knockout round play-offs.

The likes of Feyenoord and Young Boys are transferring from UEFA Champions League, into knockout round play-offs.

The Europa League group fixtures will continue next week Thursday to determine the remaining teams that will qualify for the round of 16.
