Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has addressed rumours of unrest in his team’s dressing room.

Ten Hag is battling a fresh wave of criticism after United’s tame 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday, December 2.

In the wake of the defeat, the Dutchman was subjected to nasty rumours claiming he had lost part of the dressing room after clashing with Anthony Martial during the match against the Magpies.

All the drama surrounding United led to the club barring four journalists from Tuesday’s press conference, after an order from United's communications director Andrew Ward.

"We're taking action against a number of news organisations today, not for publishing stories we don't like, but for doing so without contacting us first to give us the opportunity to comment, challenge or contextualize,” United said in a statement.

Ten Hag diffused the rumours of a revolt against him in the presser, insisting the players still back him.

“Stories in the media about players are not true. No chaos in the dressing room,” the gaffer said, as cited by Football insider Fabrizio Romano.

“In every team there are always players who are not playing or playing less who are less happy. In some circumstances you need that, they have to wait for their chance. But no, there are no issues”.

According to GOAL.com, Ten Hag further singled out the Newcastle defeat as “one bad game”, citing the 3-0 win against Everton and 3-3 draw against Galatasaray as examples of how well his side can play.

Ten Hag also addressed the issue of four journalists who were barred from attending the presser, saying:

"They should come to us first and not go around our back printing articles,"
