'End GOAT argument now!' — Nigerians extol Messi after magical display against Croatia

Following Argentina's remarkable victory against Croatia in the semi-finals of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar, some Nigerian sports enthusiasts took to social media to hail Lionel Messi for his dazzling display.

The Argentina captain inspired La Albiceleste to an impressive 3-0 win against Croatia at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Doha on Tuesday, December 13 to book their place in the grand finale.

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner gave the Copa American champions the lead from 12 yards in the 34th minute after Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic fouled Julian Alvarez in the box.

Alvarez doubled Argentina's lead five minutes later after Argentina turned defence into attack after an astonishing run from the Manchester City man.

Messi was the architect of the third goal in the 69th minute after spinning the Croatian defence before putting it on the plate for Alvarez.

Impressed by the display from the PSG forward, some Nigerians took to their social media to call for an end to the long-standing GOAT debate between Messi and Ronaldo.
