Effiong, Atshimene still major injury doubts for Akwa United

Akwa United players, Otobong Effiong and Charles Atshimene will miss Wednesday's clash against FC Ifeanyi Ubah on Wednesday, March 17.

Coach Kennedy Boboye said the duo have not recovered fully from their injuries following last Fridays auto crash

The two players reportedly sat out of the training session on Monday, which means they are not in top shape for the game.

“We are grateful to God that all our players are in good condition and were part of our two training sessions ahead of the game.

“Only our Captain Otobong Effiong and striker Charles Atshimene are not in contention to due to minor injuries but everyone else is physically and psychologically ready to play on Wednesday,” Boboye said.

Charles Atshimene has been an important player for the Promise Keepers in this campaign as he has contributed three goals.
