Edo Queens coach Gabriel Adejoh dies in Benin City after brief illness

of Edo Queens in Benin has been reported dead after illness.
The 45-year-old was said to have fallen into a coma before he passed on.

He coached Edo Queens for three seasons in the Nigerian Women football League.

Gabriel Adejoh during his active playing time years back played for Bendel Insurance of Benin and was in the squad that won the prestigious CAF Cup in 1994.

Adejoh played with the likes of Moses Otoh and James Abe at Bendel Insurance and these trio formed a formidable force up front then.

For the past three seasons, Gabriel Adejoh was with Edo Queens and the club are even waiting for the Federal Government to lift ban on football so that they can resume training.

However, Gabriel Adejoh battled against unknown sickness which forced him into a coma before he died in Benin which is the capital of Edo state.

“This is a very sad moment for the Nigeria Women Football League, we are still struggling to get over the passing of Henrietta Ukaigwe, now we are dealing with another death.

“I was shocked by the news, it’s difficult for me as a person and I sympathize with his family, Edo Queens management, the players and technical crew. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,'' President of Nigeria Women Football League side, Naija Ratels FC, Barrister Paul Edeh explained.
