The Premier League title race has taken an exciting twist in recent weeks, and after 12 games of the 2023/24 season, it has now become obvious who are genuine contenders.

Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are the early pacesetters in the race, with each side now experiencing defeat at some point in the season.

Tottenham, who led early for the first three months, have faltered as a result of back-to-back defeats, with their latest 2-1 loss to Wolves on Sunday, November 12 coming as a painful reality check for Ange Postecoglou in his debut season in the Premier League.

Those defeats, coupled with positive results for Liverpool and Arsenal tightened the margin at the top, with just two points separating first from fourth.

Liverpool moved to second with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Brentford on Sunday, while Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Burnley was enough for the Gunners to leapfrog their arch rivals Tottenham, as cited on The Mirror.

As we head into the grueling festive period, Sports Brief now takes a look at the upcoming fixtures of the four main title contenders, and how the league will shape up between now and just after Christmas.

For more context, we included Aston Villa’s fixtures as well, as Unai Emery’s side are proving to be the dark horses of the league, particularly with their frightening home form.
