Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month of August.

The Super Eagles striker was impressive for the Tricky Trees in the past month.

The former Union Berlin man scored 3 goals in 3 outings for Steve Cooper's side.

He was on the scoresheet in Forest's 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on matchday 1.

Awoniyi also scored in his side's 2-1 home win over Sheffield United on matchday 2 and in their 3-2 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Nigerian international faces stiff competition from West Ham's Jared Bowen, Spurs' James Maddison, Manchester City's Rodri, Brighton's Kaoru Mitoma, and Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford.
