Former assistant manager to Pep Guardiola Domence Torrent is reportedly part of the candidates who have submitted their application to the NFF for the vacant Super Eagles coaching role.

The Nigeria Football Federations (NFF) is yet to appoint a new head coach for the Super Eagles after Portuguese gaffer José Peseiro left the role earlier this month despite guiding the team to the grand finale of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote D'Ivoire.

Nigeria lost 2-1 in the finals to hosts Ivory Coast after William Troost-Ekong gave the three-time African champions the lead in the first half.

According to widespread reports, the NFF have received numerous applications from both local and foreign coaches who have expressed interest in handling the senior men's national team.

Among the applicants as per emerging report is Spanish coach Domence Torrent. Torrent has worked under Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola at Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

He has also coached clubs like Girona and New York City. His last coaching job was with Turkish giants Galatasaray in 2022 where he was relieved of his duties after just five months.
