Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers ended his goal drought for Serie A outfit Cremonese against Victor Osimhen's Napoli in the Serie A on Sunday, October 9.

The Dutch-born Nigerian scored his side's only goal in their 4-1 defeat to the Serie A league leaders.

The former Feyenoord striker had failed to score in 8 Serie A outings for the newly promoted side since completing his €6.5m move from KRC Genk in July.

The 27-year-old pounced on a loose ball from Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret to draw his side level in the 47th minute after Matteo Politano had put the visitors ahead from the spot in minute 26.

Dessers was withdrawn in the 72nd minute and Luciano Spalletti's side later regained control of the game courtesy of goals from Giovanni Simeone, Hirving Lozano, and Mathias Olivera.

Cremonese are still in search of their first win in the Italian topflight after nine league games.

Napoli on the other hand sits on top of the Serie A with 23 points, ahead of Atalanta, Milan and Udinese.
