Nigeria forward Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure is delighted with Club’s 2-1 win over KRC Genk in the Belgian Jupiler league game on Sunday.

Dennis returned to the line up after being left out of the team in recent weeks, amidst transfer speculations linking him with a move away.

The one time capped Super Eagles forward made a quick impact as he set up Club Brugge’s opening goal in the first half.

He sent a delightful ball to Hans Vanaken who headed home the opener in the 25th minute.

The home side later restored the parity, but Brugge who are the league defending champions got the important second goal with few minutes left to play.

Dennis said he’s happy the result, but admitted his side should have done better.

“Of course I am very happy that we were able to take three points today. After all the negative comments from the past week, we were super motivated to come and win here.

“If that succeeds, then, of course, you cannot but be happy. Also with the fact that we, especially in the first half, could hurt Genk a lot of times.

“And actually we should have scored more than once I thought. Luckily Hans (Vanaken) was well placed on one of my infiltrations to head the ball in so that we could rest with a deserved 1-0 lead.” He said.

Dennis was replaced later in the second half, but his compatriot David Okereke played all the entire duration of the match.
