Lazio head coach, Marco Baroni has challenged Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to improve his game.
Dele-Bashiru, who joined the Turkish club Hatayaspor this summer made his Serie A debut in Lazio’s 3-1 win over Venezia at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday. He played the entire match.
The Nigerian player received praise for his performance but Baroni believes he can do even better.
“Dele-Bashiru has great potential. He needs to understand our style of football, which requires training and playing,” Baroni told Lazionews24.
“We will give him the chance to do that. We also have other good midfielders who are getting better. His attitude is important.”
Baroni mentioned two key areas where the former Sheffield Wednesday player needs to improve.
“He needs to improve his posture because he often gets blocked by opponents, which stops him from moving forward,” Baroni added.
“But when he opens his shoulder, he is very effective. He needs to become a ball-winner, which is not easy. It’s a big change, but he made a great contribution.”
