Del Piero delivers a stunning statement about Osimhen after leading Napoli to Serie A title

Italian legend, Alessandro Del Piero has saluted Victor Osimhen for his incredible performances this season, which have helped Napoli win the Serie A title following their 1-1 draw at Udinese on May 4.

Napoli's 30-year wait to win the Scudetto is finally over with five games still to play this season.

Fans of the Italian giants have already started rejoicing since their team cannot be matched in the top flight league, no matter which way the remaining results go.

Osimhen has delivered for the club this season, with the Super Eagles star playing an important role in helping Napoli become the new champions of Italy.

With 27 goals in all competitions, the Nigerian is also on the verge of winning the Serie A Golden Boot, which will be another landmark achievement for him.

According to a video posted by Sky Sports on Twitter, Del Piero described Osimhen as 'a symbol of a modern-day striker' judging by his games this term.

Del Piero noted Osimhen's ability to improve throughout the season and hailed him for certain 'peculiar' characteristics which resonated with him.

"He is courageous, determined, hungry to score and do well. Napoli with Osimhen is a team for the Scudetto; without him, it's harder," the former player added.
