Cristiano Ronaldo was left red-faced as his Al-Nassr side suffered a resounding defeat at the hands of local rivals Al-Hilal in the highly anticipated Riyadh Derby, a standout fixture in the Saudi Pro League's 15th matchday.

Sitting at the top two spots on the league table, the clash between Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr promised an intense battle, but it was Al-Hilal who claimed a convincing 3-0 victory at the King Fahd Sports City, asserting their dominance in the Riyadh Derby.

Mitrovic, formerly of Newcastle United and Fulham, emerged as the star of the match, stealing the spotlight with two exceptional goals that left the Al-Nassr's defence struggling to contain him.

His clinical finishing and smart positioning were instrumental in Al-Hilal's commanding win, further solidifying their position at the league's summit.

Prior to Mitrovic's goals, Cristiano Ronaldo had a goal disallowed due to an offside call, intensifying the already charged atmosphere of the match, per Zawya.com.

This led to several contentious moments that left the Al-Nassr camp feeling aggrieved, prompting the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus forward to express his frustration to Hilal's president, Fahad bin Nafel, after the game.

Despite Al-Nassr's grievances, the Blue Waves maintained their dominance, securing the victory with a clean sheet.

According to NST, the result not only extends Al-Hilal's unbeaten streak but also sends a formidable message to their competitors in the SPL.

With 41 points, the 18-time Saudi champions now lead the league table, boasting a commanding 7-point advantage over their closest rival, Al-Nassr.
