Cote d’Ivoire vs Nigeria: Drogba reacts to tough draw

Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba believes his country will have a tough time against the Super Eagles when both countries square up at the AFCON next year.

According to him, playing against the three-time African champion will be an “exciting challenge” for the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.

Cote d’Ivoire will face Nigeria alongside Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau following Thursday’s final draw in Abidjan.

Drogba said playing the Super Eagles promises to be a thrilling early test for the Elephants.

“It is a very difficult group. Nigeria is, of course, one of the favorites and to have them in our group, it is going to be an exciting challenge,” Drogba was quoted by CAFonline.

“But we are up for it. This is the beauty of a competition like AFCON, so we are ready to take on the challenge and let the best teams of this group and all the groups qualify.”
