The Nigerian Club Owners Association has urged the League Management Company to get sponsors for Nigerian professional football league, before the end of the current season.

This was made known by the association at the quarterly meeting on Monday, June 28, 2021 in Abuja.

According to the communique made available to the media, the association disclosed that the league is on the back foot, due to a lack of sponsors and they charged the organizers and Nigeria Football Federation to come up with solutions, otherwise they would have to step in.

“We observed with deep concern that in the last four seasons the NPFL had no sponsors which has indirectly affected the progress of the league, it therefore tasked the LMC to ensure that it secure sponsorship for the League before the end of the season, otherwise the club Owners would have no other choice than to step in.” said the Club owners.

Meanwhile, the body also praised the League Management Company (LMC) for sustaining the NPFL.TV which has given the league a boost and enjoined all Football stakeholders and fans to subscribe to the NPFL.TV channels.
