Chukwueze makes history with 200 Villarreal appearances

Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze made history by becoming the youngest player to reach 200 appearances for the club on Thursday, April 27.

The 23-year-old was in action as the Yellow Submarines dispatched Espanyol 4-2 in La Liga at the Estadio de la Ceramica courtesy of goals from Etienne Capoue, Dani Parejo, and Nicolas Jackson.

Chukwueze, who joined the Spanish La Liga outfit in 2018 has scored 37 goals in his 200 appearances for Villarreal.

The Super Eagles winger has made 148 appearances in La Liga, 20 in the Europa League, 14 in Copa del Rey, 9 in UEFA Champions League, and 9 in the Conference League.

Chukwueze has also been a key player in Villarreal's successes in recent times including their triumph in the Europa League in 2021.

The Nigerian international has been phenomenal this season in particular, he has managed 13 goals and 11 assists in all competitions for Quique Setien's side.

His decent form has drawn interest from top clubs like Real Madrid, Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa who are racing for his signature in the summer.
