Danish-born Nigerian forward, Chidozie Obi-Martin, showcased his prowess by leading Arsenal to a 5-3 victory over Brighton in the U18 Premier League.

The game played at the Elite Football Performance Centre, saw the Cherries take an early lead, thanks to goals from Joe Belmont and Harry Mills.

However, Arsenal swiftly responded, with Louie Copley and Michal Rosiak levelling the score.

Obi-Martin then seized the opportunity, netting two goals before halftime, securing a comfortable lead for the young Gunners. Despite Ronnie Gorman's late goal for Brighton, Nigerian talent Andre Annous sealed the win with a strike in the 83rd minute.

The 16-year-old's stellar performance solidified his reputation as a goal-scoring machine, with an impressive 11 in just four games, as reported by All Nigeria Soccer.

His 15 goals in the league this season place him within striking distance of Rhys Murphy's record for most goals by an Arsenal schoolboy in the league.

The Gunners youngster, who has been compared to Gabriel Jesus, has already featured for Denmark’s under-17s but was still eligible to represent either Nigeria or England.

He was born to a Danish mother and a Nigerian father in Copenhagen but grew up in England, detailed why he chose to play for Denmark over the Super Eagles or Three Lions,

“It is easier to speak the language because I have lived longer in Denmark, so it just makes better sense. I hope to be able to play in the Danish national team for a long time, so I hope it’s just Denmark," he said as reported by the Daily Post.
