Chelsea reignite interest in Osimhen after striker's resurgence

Chelsea have changed their mind about signing Victor Osimhen in the summer, as the striker's recent impressive performances for Napoli have caught their attention.

According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, the Blues have now identified the Nigerian striker as their primary transfer target for the number 9 position in the upcoming transfer window.

Earlier, Chelsea had lost interest in pursuing Osimhen due to his dip in form earlier this year. The 25-year-old struggled to find the back of the net in 10 out of 14 games, managing just one assist during that period.

However, Osimhen has experienced a resurgence in form in recent weeks, scoring four goals in his last five games for Napoli. His standout performances against Roma and Udinese have especially caught the eye.

Osimhen's determination to overcome his earlier struggles has reportedly convinced Chelsea to reconsider their stance and reignite their interest in him for the centre forward position.

The ex-Lille forward has now scored 15 goals in 23 appearances for Napoli in Serie A this season.
