Chelsea legend Ruud Gullit has left fans confused after admitting he wants the Blues to lose during their next match against Everton.

The west Londoners are scheduled to face the Toffees on Sunday, December 10, at Goodison Park.
The match comes at a time when Chelsea are in dire need of a positive result to boost their chances of playing European football next season.

Mauricio Pochettino's charges have endured a mixed run of results in the Premier League this season, and currently sit 10th in the standings.

Chelsea have racked up a paltry 19 points from 15 matches, with their last outing ending a 2-1 defeat against rivals Manchester United.

Gullit, a Chelsea legend, has now stunned many after he claimed that he wants his former side to lose against Everton when they meet on Sunday.

According to the Dutchman, he is backing Everton in the tie so they can increase their chances of avoiding relegation following their 10-point deduction over Financial Fair Play regulations.
Gullit conceded that he felt sorry for the Toffees after they were slapped with the points deduction that initially saw them drop to the relegation zone.

‌"I want Everton to stay in the Premier League, and I wouldn't mind if they got a result against Chelsea! I say that only due to Everton's situation, though," he told Gambling Zone.

"I'm still a massive Chelsea supporter and I want them to win (games)! However, I have sympathy for Everton and I want them to stay up," he added.

Daily Star reports that Gullit, who won the Ballon d'Or in 1987, joined Chelsea in 1995.
The former defender went on to spend four years with the Blues and became a player/manager a year after he joined the club.
