Check out three UCL records Osimhen could set against AC Milan

Napoli's Victor Osimhen will make his return to the starting line-up as Serie A leaders look to overturn their one-goal deficit when they take on AC Milan at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples tonight.

The leading top scorer in Serie A missed the first leg due to a muscle injury but has received clearance to feature in the return fixture tonight (April 18).

As we build to the game itself, let's examine some records the Nigerian international could set as he features against the seven-time title holders.

First Napoli player to score a UCL quarterfinal goal

Despite having the likes of Diego Armando Maradona feature for the club, Victor Osimhen could become the first Napoli player to score a quarterfinal goal in the UEFA Champions League.

Having edged Frankfurt to qualify for the last 8 for the first time in the club's history, Luciano Spalletti's team failed to find the back of the net against AC Milan in the first leg of their quarterfinal clash in San Siro.

Most goals by a Nigerian player in UCL campaign

Having managed 4 goals in 6 UCL outings this season, Osimhen could equal Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Obafemi Martins' record of 5 Champions League goals in a season, that is if he finds the back of the net against the Rossoneri.

Yakubu Aiyegbeni managed 5 UCL goals in the 2002/03 season for Portsmouth.

Obafemi Martins also netted 5 UCL goals during the 2004/2005 campaign for Inter Milan.

Most UCL goals by a Nigerian player in the knockout stage

After scoring three times against Frankfurt in the previous round, Osimhen equalled Obafemi Martins' record as the Nigerian player with the most UCL knockout goals (3).

One more goal from Osimhen will see him surpass the former Inter and Newcastle United striker as the Nigerian player with the most goals in the UCL knockout stage.
