Al Nassr forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, is set to finish the year as the world's leading top goal scorer.

This comes after the 38-year-old scored his 54th goal of the year in a decisive 4-1 victory against Al Taawoun in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday.

Ronaldo's prolific 54 goals have been amassed in just 59 appearances for both club and country.

This puts him ahead of the likes of Bayern Munich's Harry Kane and Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappé, both of whom have scored 52 goals, as well as Manchester City sensation Erling Haaland, who trails with 50 goals.

None of these leading contenders will have another opportunity to add to their tally as the year draws to an end in the next few hours.

This remarkable feat marks the fifth time in his illustrious career that Ronaldo will conclude the year as the world's premier goal scorer.

He previously achieved this distinction in 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2015 during his tenure with Real Madrid.

Expressing his gratitude and excitement, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner took to social media after the game, stating, "54 – I'll say when it's finished! Thanks, team." Ronaldo's consistent goal-scoring prowess has once again solidified his status as one of the greatest footballers of all time.
