Coach of Enyimba Football Club, Fatai Osho has taken the blame for his team's CAF Champion League exit.

Despite a 2-1 win in the second leg of the tie against El Merreikh at the Aba Township Stadium on Wednesday, the Elephants could not overturn the early 3-0 deficit.

Reacting after the match, Osho hinted that his boys tried their best to turn the tie around, but a poor start and fantastic display from the El Merreikh goalkeeper made the game more difficult for his team, Today.ng said.

Osho added that he’s responsible for the results and not his players.

“The blame is on me,I take responsibility for the result, if the team had won, the fans would have been clapping for me and if the team fail to do well, the fans will go against me.

“But look at the chances we created and the saves their goalkeeper made, you have to give credit to the goalkeeper; he had a good day.

“We didn’t score in their home, we scored two here but unfortunately their early goal weakened us,” he said.

Fatai Osho and his boys have now dropped to the second tier of Africa’s elite football competition in the CAF Confederation Cup.
