The highly anticipated 2023 CAF Awards organized by the Confederation of African Football was finally held at the Movenpick Hotel in the central Moroccan city of Marrakech last night, December 11.
The ceremony saw big wins for Nigeria as Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen picked up the most coveted award ahead of Egypt forward, Mohamed Salah and Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco defender, Achraf Hakimi.
Al Nassr forward, Sadio Mane won the last two editions but failed to make it to the final three finalists for this year's edition.
CAF inaugurated the new format of the awards in 1992, with Samuel Eto'o and Yaya Toure holding the record as respective four-time winners, according to a report by The Sporting News.
