Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has been shortlisted for Bundesliga Player of The Month of August after an incredible start to his debut campaign.

The 22-year-old has been phenomenal since joining the Bundesliga outfit from Union St Gilloise from the Belgian Pro League this summer.

The Nigerian striker managed two goals and two assists in his first two Bundesliga matches for Leverkusen.

Boniface faces competition from Nigerian-born goalkeeper Noah Atubolu, who plies his trade for SC Freiburg and Xavi Simons RB Leipzig.

Boniface has been handed his first national team call-up for the Super Eagles' last AFCON qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe.
